Kailali Multiple Campus (KMC) was established in 1980 AD, which is located in Dhangadhi, Kailali district of Nepal. KMC is affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU) and approved by the University Grants Commission of Nepal. KMC offers bachelor’s and master’s programs in management, humanities, and colleges of education.
Consequently, Kailali Commerce Campus, later renamed Kailali Multiple Campus, at the request of the Kailali people, the Government of Nepal granted 27 bighas of land in the eastern part of the city of Dhangadhi, where the facilities of the campus today. The financial and other resources necessary for the establishment of the campus were raised locally. The business community, social workers, the Kailali District Development Committee, Dhangadhi Municipality and other segments of society also generously donated the contribution to the campus fund for this purpose.
KMC is a QAA Certified Institution based on its historical performance, this campus was selected in 2008 by the University Scholarship Commission (UGC) through a national competition for participation in the Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) process.
MISSION
The campus mission is to provide access to higher education for the people of the Far West and the country, with an emphasis on ‘Janajatis’, ‘Dalits’, women and other marginalized sectors. With a view to its goal of turning the campus into a regional university, the campus aspires to be an accredited institution of higher education, through efforts focused on human resource development, quality education and physical infrastructure, and program outreach activities. .
VISION: To be a top-tier educational institution in Nepal recognized nationally through sustained efforts towards quality education, emphasis on comprehensive student development, and dedication to community service.
OBJECTIVES: To achieve the vision and mission, the campus will strive to achieve some specific strategic objectives, ie.
Extension of the program in accordance with the educational demands of the Far West region.
Continuous efforts towards a quality education and the integral development of the students.
Strengthen the infrastructure base and human resources to turn the campus into a university.
Qualify for UGC accreditation and maintain accreditation status.
Improve internal efficiency.
Achieve sustainability by expanding the financial resource base.
Socially responsible educational institution, maintain a good relationship with the community.
Historic Achievements: QAA Certification
KMC has established several milestones in the history of education in the Far West region. The selection of KMC at the national level by the University Scholarship Commission to grant international accreditation is the latest example of its success. Based on its historical performance, this campus was selected in 2008 by the University Scholarship Commission (UGC) through a national competition for participation in the Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) process.
In order to obtain QAA, KMC had prepared a Self Study Report (SSR) and sent it to UGC for evaluation. After several monitoring and evaluation visits, from Falgun 3-7, 2068, a high-level Peer Review Team (PRT) coordinated by Prof. Dr. Madhav Prasad Sharma and supported by Prof. Dr. Madhukar Seshadri (International Expert), Prof Dr. Chandra Lal Shrestha, Prof. Dr. Hridaya Rantan Bajracharya, Prof. Dr. Kanaiya Mathema, Dr. Indira Shrestha and Sita Ram Dahal visited the campus for the final evaluation.
Based on the PRT’s assessment, UGC’s Accreditation and Quality Assurance Committee has decided that the KMC should address some recommendations to complete the accreditation process in a period of 3 months. Accordingly, KMC prepared a response report and action plan addressing the PRT’s recommendations and submitted it to UGC.
After intensive review of the response report, UGC decided to accredit KMC. On Jestha 29, 2069, UGC held an Institutional Accreditation Award Ceremony and awarded the QAA Certificate.
